Overview
Portugal's D8 Digital Nomad Visa allows eligible remote employees and self-employed professionals to live in Portugal while continuing to work for employers or clients based outside the country.
Introduced to attract global professionals, the D8 is now one of Europe’s most practical work-based residency options, offering a clear path to long-term residency and, ultimately, Portuguese citizenship — without requiring investment or local employer sponsorship.
